WEBINAR March 19, 2025: Free Trade and Mutual Recognition Agreements
The agreements that allow European SMEs and industries to operate smoothly in international markets
Businesses, especially those with high growth potential, do not need barriers but rather international agreements that allow them to operate smoothly in foreign markets. This is because the domestic demand of a single country or the Single Market may limit their growth. For this reason, the European Union has signed, on behalf of the Member States, several agreements with countries that could be highly beneficial for internationalization strategies.
– Free Trade Agreements (FTA) with non-EU countries allow for the elimination or reduction of import duties on products originating from partner countries.
– Mutual Recognition Agreements (MRA) promote the trade of goods between the European Union and certain third countries. These agreements benefit businesses by establishing the conditions under which a non-EU country will accept the results of conformity assessments performed by conformity assessment bodies designated by an EU Member State, and vice versa.
